Man slashed with knife and mobile phone stolen by group in park

A man was approached by a group who stole his phone and slashed him with a blade.

The victim, a man in his 50s, was walking near to the playground area in Avenham Park, Preston at around 7am on Monday, November 14.

He was approached by a group of three or four males who stole his mobile phone and slashed him with a blade.

He was treated in hospital for his injuries which aren’t thought to be life-threatening.

A spokesperson for the police said: “We want to hear from anyone who was in Avenham Park and the surrounding areas at around 7am on Monday morning. Did you witness anyone acting suspiciously in the area?”
